Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Won Yong Jung (ranked 472 p4p, 601 weight class) and Ishmael Egyptian (ranked 43 p4p, 54 weight class). Won Yong Jung has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Won Yong Jung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Ishmael Egyptian!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Jung.
Jung seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Jung misses with a hook. Egyptian ducked under it nicely.
Egyptian takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jung misses with a straight left.
Egyptian's corner calls for a 1-2. Egyptian obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
The crowd cheers as Egyptian lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jung doesn't seem phased though.
Egyptian uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jung has time to react.
A swing and a miss from Egyptian.
Jung walks into a left hand.
Egyptian throws a body punch but Jung moves out of range.

Ishmael Egyptian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Jung.
Egyptian with the counter takedown but Jung avoids it easily.
Jung walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Egyptian throws a sloppy body shot
and Jung counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Egyptian thinking.
Egyptian punishes Jung's body with a nice straight punch.
Egyptian just misses with a punch to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Jung has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Egyptian drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Egyptian lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Jung regains half guard.
Jung moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Jung has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Egyptian can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
My spies in The Infamous Duranto Gym inform me that Egyptian has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Egyptian avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Jung looking for a guillotine here but Egyptian defends easily.
Egyptian tries to free his leg and advance position but Jung is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Egyptian content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jung working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Egyptian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Egyptian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jung is refusing to be controlled, as Egyptian sits in half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jung is defending against the submission attempts here by Egyptian.

Egyptian is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jung wants to improve his position but Egyptian is controlling well.
Egyptian is looking to take a break and control but Jung is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Egyptian is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jung doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Egyptian.
Egyptian thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jung's head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ishmael Egyptian dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Egyptian misses with an uppercut
enabling Jung to counter with a crisp jab.
Egyptian shoots in looking for a takedown. Jung tries to sprawl out of it but Egyptian keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jung manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Egyptian throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Jung to counter with a crisp jab.

Jung lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Egyptian sprawling to the canvas. Jung follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Egyptian hang on?

Egyptian is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jung is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Egyptian is hurt! He's hurt bad - Jung fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Egyptian from any more punishment! Congratulations to Jung! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Won Yong Jung!
