With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlo Pedersoli!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ship misses with a hook to the body
and Pedersoli cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Roman Ship has been cut.
Pedersoli throws a body punch but Ship moves out of range.

Pedersoli gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ship prevents Pedersoli from getting back to his feet.
Pedersoli is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ship dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ship wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pedersoli, who protects the arm well.
Pedersoli is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Ship is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pedersoli is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Ship prevents Pedersoli from escaping the position.

Ship is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pedersoli knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pedersoli felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ship thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Pedersoli is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ship is controlling him well.
Ship wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pedersoli keeps working.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ship tries to advance position but instead Pedersoli slips a leg back in to half guard.
Pedersoli is looking to escape.

Ship wants to take a breather but Pedersoli is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ship. Pedersoli does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ship swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Pedersoli counter with a right hand.
Pedersoli misses with a low kick as Ship jumps back.
Ship misses with a takedown
and Pedersoli counters with a stiff right hand.
Pedersoli misses with a hook. Ship ducked under it nicely.
Ship missing with a left hand there. Pedersoli was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Pedersoli tried to score with a low kick but Ship checks it.

Ship misses with a wild body shot.
Pedersoli shapes to counter with a head kick.
Pedersoli clobbers Ship with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Roman Ship's cut is getting worse.
Pedersoli is looking to score with low kicks.
Ship lands a nice looking body shot.
Ship tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pedersoli was well out of range. Poor timing from Ship.
Ship avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ship throws a right hand that misses
and Pedersoli counters with a straight right hand.

Ship is rocked!

Roman Ship's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Pedersoli knocks out Ship with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Pedersoli before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Pedersoli picks up the big W with a huge KO!
