Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Soares. Kovacs does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kovacs misses with a low kick.
Soares scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Kovacs pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Soares was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Soares bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kovacs slips a straight right by Soares.
Kovacs has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kovacs throws a right and a left that Soares avoids nicely.
Soares throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kovacs has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kovacs there as he acknowledges the shot.

Soares swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Soares fails to land with a series of punches.
Kovacs punishes Soares's body with a nice straight punch.
That kick from Kovacs tenderised Soares's leg. Soares is trying to keep his angry face on.
Kovacs throws a hook but Soares avoids it easily.
Kovacs throws a right hand that Soares ducks under and follows up with a left that Soares also avoids with ease.
Kovacs throws a leg kick which misses Soares's front leg but catches the back leg as Soares tries to avoid it.
A low kick from Kovacs misses
and Soares counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kovacs ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Soares lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kovacs slips a jab and a cross from Soares.
It looks like Soares has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Soares connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
