PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlton Draught (ranked 1122 p4p, 1106 weight class) and Tu Barrels (ranked 129 p4p, 127 weight class). Draught comes to the cage accompanied by JACKEDANDSTACKEDMASSMONSTER. Barrels has chosen Lock stock and as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlton Draught!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 23 - 0, fighting out of London, Tu Barrels!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrels throws a hook but Draught blocks it.
Barrels connects with a jab.
Draught tries to clinch up
and Barrels cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Barrels tries a head kick but it misses.

Draught fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barrels, pushing him back against the cage.
Draught lands with a right to the head.
Barrels prevents a takedown attempt there.
Draught blocks an uppercut.
Draught cracks Barrels with a nice body shot.

Barrels manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Draught works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

It looks like Tu Barrels has been cut.
Draught slips under a jab.
Draught misses the jab.

Draught shoots in and bounces Barrels off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Draught is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Draught gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Draught gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Draught apologises and we restart here on the feet.

and Barrels connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Barrels lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

It looks like Carlton Draught has been cut.
Barrels takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Draught rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barrels moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Draught throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Carlton Draught will probably get the nod.

Barrels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Draught swivels though and keeps the full guard.
