Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fotos Hasapis (ranked 488 p4p, 622 weight class) and James Spencer (ranked 62 p4p, 80 weight class). James Spencer is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fotos Hasapis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Spencer!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hasapis rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Spencer counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hasapis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Spencer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hasapis.
Spencer looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Hasapis has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Spencer.
Hasapis misses with a shot to the body
and Spencer counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hasapis shoots in looking for a takedown but Spencer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hasapis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

enabling Spencer to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Fotos Hasapis has been cut.
Hasapis tries a head kick but it misses.
No joy there for Hasapis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Spencer swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

and Spencer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hasapis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hasapis ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Hasapis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Spencer quickly recovers to half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spencer can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hasapis is looking to advance position but Spencer won't allow it.

Hasapis is working for a kimura but Spencer is defending it quite comfortably.

Spencer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hasapis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Spencer is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Spencer felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Hasapis is nestled in close to Spencer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Spencer is staying active underneath Hasapis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hasapis is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Spencer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hasapis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Spencer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Spencer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Hasapis thuds his right hand into Spencer's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Hasapis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Spencer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hasapis misses with a low kick.
Spencer unleashes a big counter combination but Hasapis bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Hasapis darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hasapis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spencer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Despite the aggression on Spencer's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hasapis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Spencer can do to turn this around?

Hasapis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

enabling Spencer to counter with a crisp jab.

Fotos Hasapis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Hasapis throws a hook but Spencer avoids it easily.
Spencer replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Hasapis blocks it well.

and Spencer counters with a nice right hand that sends Hasapis toppling to the canvas! Hasapis scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Spencer finish him?!

Spencer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Fotos Hasapis's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). James Spencer!
An intense looking James Spencer took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Hope he’s alright- his skull 💀 cracked like a wee egg .'.
