Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baki Hanma (ranked 415 p4p, 725 weight class) and Jayilton Almeda (ranked 52 p4p, 87 weight class). Almeda has chosen Anota Aí - MC Lipi as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Almeda blocks the leg kick.
Jab, jab by Hanma - just one landing.
Baki Hanma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Almeda scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hanma doesn't seem bothered though.
Hanma ducks under a wild hook from Almeda.
Almeda takes one to the chin there.
Hanma blocks a head kick by Almeda.
Hanma rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Almeda counters with a straight right hand.
Hanma looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Almeda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hanma.
Hanma throws a lazy right hand but Almeda sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

It looks like Jayilton Almeda has been cut.
Almeda has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hanma slips a straight right by Almeda.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hanma moves out of range of the strikes.
Almeda avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Almeda moves into range and clinches up with Hanma.
Almeda putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Hanma in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Hanma is breathing heavily.
Hanma is pressed up against the cage. Almeda has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hanma down to the mat. Hanma avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Almeda shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hanma as he jumps to the side.
Baki Hanma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jayilton Almeda.
Hanma is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hanma.
Almeda takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hanma is looking to chop away at Almeda's legs.
Almeda misses with a wild body shot.
Almeda looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Hanma swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Almeda unleashes a big counter combination but Hanma bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
A big left from Almeda misses.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hanma throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Almeda looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Almeda displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Almeda needs to keep his hands up - Hanma had a free shot at his head there.
Almeda cracks Hanma on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Hanma falls backwards against the cage. Almeda follows up with more strikes that drop Hanma to his knees. Almeda keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Hanma! This one is all over!
