Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Biff Bagwell (ranked 3466 p4p, 2242 weight class) and Danny Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaw is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Elvis Costello - My Mood Swings. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Biff Bagwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw stuns Bagwell with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Shaw moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Shaw misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bagwell.
We've been informed that Shaw has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Shaw misses with a straight right.
An attempted straight right counter from Bagwell misses the target.
A telegraphed right hand from Bagwell misses the target.
Bagwell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shaw was well out of range. Poor timing from Bagwell.
Bagwell throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bagwell throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Bagwell looks to land a right hand but Shaw moved out of range.

Shaw flicks out a counter leg kick but Bagwell steps away.

Danny Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bagwell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shaw sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Shaw throws a big shot that misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bagwell enables Shaw to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bagwell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Shaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bagwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Shaw slips nicely into half guard.
Shaw works his way into side control.
Shaw wants to control but Bagwell is keeping him busy.

Shaw tries to advance to mount but Bagwell denies him.

Shaw working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Shaw is trying to get an arm triangle but Bagwell is defending well.

Shaw thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shaw tries to advance position but instead Bagwell slips a leg back in to half guard.

Shaw is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Shaw is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shaw is pressing down on Bagwell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bagwell is holding on for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Shaw dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Shaw dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bagwell. That did some damage!
Bagwell misses with a jab, cross combination.

Shaw drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bagwell manages to work his way to half guard, despite Shaw's best efforts.
Shaw is pressing down on Bagwell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bagwell is holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaw is looking to pass Bagwell's guard but actually Bagwell recovers to full guard.

Shaw passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Shaw is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bagwell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Shaw tries to move to mount but Bagwell blocks the move with his legs.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shaw passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Bagwell!
Shaw wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Bagwell manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Shaw is looking to pass Bagwell's guard but actually Bagwell recovers to full guard.

Shaw is still trying to improve position.

Shaw is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bagwell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bagwell has escaped and now he's on top!

Shaw manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bagwell manages to get himself to full guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Shaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Bagwell checks a low kick from Shaw.
Bagwell with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Shaw to score with a decent uppercut.
Bagwell moves out of range of the strikes.
Shaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bagwell moves away.
Bagwell connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shaw. Shaw circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A big left from Bagwell misses.
Bagwell misses with a body shot.
Shaw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bagwell pinned against the cage. Bagwell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Shaw was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Bagwell throws a body punch but Shaw moves out of range.
Bagwell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shaw.
Shaw has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Shaw uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bagwell.
Bagwell checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Bagwell went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Shaw walks into a jab.
Shaw takes a swing at Bagwell's ribcage but misses.
Bagwell was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Shaw drops his hands momentarily and Bagwell takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Shaw fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bagwell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Shaw smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Bagwell misses with a combination
and Shaw counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A slow jab from Shaw misses its intended target.
Shaw throws a nice outside leg kick.
Biff Bagwell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bagwell ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bagwell is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Shaw moves out of range of the body kick.
Shaw is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Danny Shaw seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bagwell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shaw stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Shaw throws a hook to the side of Bagwell's head but Bagwell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Shaw shoots in and drives through. Bagwell sprawls well.
Bagwell throws out a loose jab but Shaw uses good head movement to avoid it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shaw! But no joy.

A looping hook to the body misses from Shaw. Bagwell does a little dance to reset his feet.

Shaw misses with a takedown attempt - Bagwell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Biff Bagwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Shaw.
Shaw fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bagwell checks it well.
Bagwell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shaw. Bagwell does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bagwell stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shaw.
Shaw on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Shaw stuns Bagwell with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Shaw lands a nice hook to Bagwell's body. Bagwell takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Shaw drops his hands momentarily and Bagwell takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Bagwell throws a big counter combination but Shaw scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Bagwell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Bagwell misses with an attempted mid kick.
Shaw moves out of range of the body kick from Bagwell.
Shaw flicks out a counter leg kick but Bagwell steps away.
A nice inside leg kick there by Shaw. That's going to slow Bagwell down.
Shaw scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shaw gets a takedown into half guard.
Shaw passes to side control.
Shaw has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Bagwell!
Shaw can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bagwell is looking to escape.
Biff Bagwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shaw is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bagwell has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bagwell!

And that's the end of the fight!
Danny Shaw comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shaw has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
