Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trayvon Lewis (ranked 796 p4p, 1029 weight class) and Legend Debonaire (ranked 112 p4p, 133 weight class). Legend Debonaire will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trayvon Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Legend Debonaire!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Debonaire scores with a shot to the body.
Lewis staying out of range there.
Debonaire thuds his right hand into Lewis's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A shot to the liver by Debonaire. Beautiful body shot.
Debonaire misses with a body shot.
Lewis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Debonaire was well out of range. Poor timing from Lewis.
Debonaire uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lewis.
Debonaire feints and then cracks Lewis's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lewis down.
Debonaire will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Lewis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Debonaire is trying to defend but Lewis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lewis keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Debonaire felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Debonaire is looking to improve his position.
Debonaire is staying active underneath Lewis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lewis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Debonaire defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Debonaire controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Lewis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Still in half guard, Lewis seems content to control.
Lewis trying to control from Debonaire's half guard. Debonaire has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
We've been hearing that Lewis has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Lewis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Debonaire controls Lewis momentarily but Lewis frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Debonaire fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lewis.
Lewis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Debonaire.
Lewis half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Debonaire throws a body kick that misses.
Lewis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Debonaire.
Debonaire misses with a leg kick

and Lewis counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Lewis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Debonaire holds on and takes a little breather.
Lewis throwing strikes but missing.
Lewis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Lewis pushes down on Debonaire's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Well, if Lewis is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Lewis stalling away here and it's allowed Debonaire to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Lewis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lewis trying to control but Debonaire is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Debonaire throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lewis attempts a counter takedown but Debonaire avoids it well and moves away.
Debonaire dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Debonaire throws a nice outside leg kick.
Debonaire throws a jab when Lewis was well out of range.

Lewis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Debonaire keeps working.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Lewis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Debonaire regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lewis.
Lewis postures up in Debonaire's guard and throws a big left but Debonaire blocks it.
Debonaire is controlling Lewis's posture.
Lewis looking to sit in guard and control but Debonaire gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Debonaire trying to control the position from guard on top but Lewis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.

Lewis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Debonaire gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Debonaire seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lewis has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Debonaire should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lewis has tightened it up now! Debonaire should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Trayvon Lewis!
After the fight, Trayvon Lewis was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
