The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kovacs.
Kovacs swings for the body but Martinez moves out of range.

Martinez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Martinez catches Kovacs with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kovacs shoots in looking for a takedown but Martinez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kovacs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Martinez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
