Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Butler Hickok (ranked 3218 p4p, 1019 weight class) and Alan Spence (ranked 181 p4p, 29 weight class). Spence is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Were Coming. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Butler Hickok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Alan Spence !
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spence throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It looked like Hickok was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Spence throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hickok keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Spence 's coach down at Is It Avatary Enough? was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Spence 's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Spence throws a big shot that misses.
A swing and a miss from Spence .
A little feinted left hand from Hickok on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Hickok ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hickok misses with a combination
and Spence counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hickok swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Spence scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hickok doesn't seem bothered though.

Hickok takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Spence is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hickok rather than just go for the knockout.

and Hickok counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Spence avoids a punch combination nicely.
A shot to the body from Spence misses
and Hickok counters with a three punch combo that has Spence backing up. Spence nods at Hickok to acknowledge the strikes.

Hickok swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Spence counters with a nice uppercut.

Spence throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hickok stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spence cracks Hickok with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Spence . Hickok does a little dance to reset his feet.
Spence lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Spence lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Alan Spence comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Spence has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
