Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jerry Hammerstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Chang!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammerstein avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Hammerstein fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chang sprawls well initially but Hammerstein persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Hammerstein's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerstein throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Chang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hammerstein is working for a submission of some sort.
Chang is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hammerstein's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hammerstein's back!

Hammerstein drops back looking for a leg! Chang is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chang manages to kick Hammerstein off! Hammerstein jumps back into Chang's guard.
Chang tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Chang is adopting a defensive guard.
Chang bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hammerstein's guard.

Hammerstein has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hammerstein is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Chang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hammerstein swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hammerstein working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chang doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chang manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Chang wants to control from the top but Hammerstein keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close round but I would say that Jerry Hammerstein will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Chang thows a left - swing and a miss!

Hammerstein closes the distance and clinches.
Chang lands a left hand.

Chang pulls Hammerstein into guard.

Hammerstein is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Chang pulls Hammerstein in to control the position.
Hammerstein trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Chang utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hammerstein stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chang swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hammerstein postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chang is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hammerstein, into his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chang won't allow Hammerstein to sweep him here.

Hammerstein throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chang escapes and throws Hammerstein's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Hammerstein is not content to let Chang control the position.
Hammerstein manages to work his way to half guard, despite Chang's best efforts.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chang connects with a nice short shot to Hammerstein's temple.
Hammerstein is refusing to be controlled, as Chang sits in half guard.

Hammerstein takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
A big strike lands for Chang! That's really hurt Hammerstein and he's turned his back - Chang keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Chang jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy Chang!
Tommy Chang decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
