Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Javier Martinez (ranked 754 p4p, 3654 weight class) and Eli Vieira (ranked 93 p4p, 383 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 41 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Javier Martinez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eli Vieira! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vieira moves away from the strike by Martinez. A jab from Martinez finds it's way through Vieira's defenses. Vieira's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Vieira duly obliges. Vieira avoids a lazy jab quite easily. It seemed like Vieira was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Martinez lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Vieira shoots in but Martinez avoids the takedown attempt easily. A head kick misses from Vieira. Vieira throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vieira gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Vieira tries to move into range but Martinez moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Martinez drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez sitting in guard here, content to control. Martinez scoring with some ground and pound. Vieira had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Martinez defends it easily. Martinez sitting in guard, not really doing much. Martinez lands a couple of decent looking shots. Vieira being controlled here, momentarily. Vieira has his foot on Martinez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martinez works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Martinez stays in close to Vieira's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martinez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Martinez throws a strike but Vieira rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Martinez is looking to sweep but instead, Vieira has passed into half guard.
Martinez wants to sweep but Vieira has passed to side control! Martinez tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Martinez wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Martinez right now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Martinez defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Vieira controlling the positon. Vieira has the hooks in. Martinez is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vieira tries to get the hooks in deep but Martinez pushed the leg off. Martinez tries to escape but Vieira has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Vieira is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

A close round but Eli Vieira will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Vieira defending well as Martinez loads up on a big left hand. A little jabbing left from Vieira on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Martinez throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Martinez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Martinez lands in his opponent's guard. Vieira keeping moving, preventing Martinez from controlling successfully. Vieira had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Martinez defends it easily. Martinez looking to sit in guard and control but Vieira gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Martinez gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Martinez is trying to reverse the position but instead Vieira has taken his back - oops! Vieira keeps control of the position as Martinez tries to break free.
Martinez wants to get back to his feet. Vieira is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vieira is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Martinez is defending well though. Vieira let's go of the attempt for now.

Eli Vieira showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Martinez fails with the takedown and Vieira counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Martinez has Vieira up against the cage in a clinch.

Vieira turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Vieira manages to end up in side control. Martinez wants to get back to his feet but Vieira is dominant here and he's now got Martinez's back! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vieira controlling well, preventing Martinez from escaping the position.

Vieira has his opponent's back but Martinez is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Vieira. Javier Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vieira walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch but Vieira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vieira shoots in looking for a takedown. Martinez tries to sprawl out of it but Vieira keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martinez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Martinez throws a hook but Vieira avoids it easily. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Vieira! But no joy. Javier Martinez is winning the standup battle so far. Martinez lands a jab to the nose. Javier Martinez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fighters circling - Martinez throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Martinez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vieira sprawls well. Vieira wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Martinez gets slowly back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Eli Vieira. I've got Vieira winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
