Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Hall!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 81 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Nastula!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nastula.

Nastula tries to sprawl but Hall drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Hall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nastula defends it well.
Nastula is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nastula moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hall wants to control from the top but Nastula keeps moving.
Hall pushes down on Nastula's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Nastula is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hall is trying to control. Nastula wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Nastula has a hand on Hall's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hall takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hall content just to control the position here.

Hall has hold of Nastula's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nastula manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hall is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nastula has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nastula!

Hall is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nastula rolls with it to try and escape but Hall cranks on the arm and Nastula is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Richard Hall!
