Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marques Roy (ranked 428 p4p, 420 weight class) and Jayden Marsh (ranked 58 p4p, 56 weight class). Marsh has chosen Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marques Roy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jayden Marsh! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roy doesn't succeed with the takedown and Marsh counters with a nice uppercut. A shot to the liver by Marsh. Beautiful body shot. Marsh's coach down at Vancouver Island Fight Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Marsh's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. No luck for Roy with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marsh loads up on a big right hand but Roy slips the punch. Roy with a lazy takedown attempt and Marsh makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marques Roy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Roy shoots for a takedown but Marsh saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Marsh counters with a crisp right hand that drops Roy! Marsh lets Roy back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
It looks like Marques Roy has been cut. Roy ducks under a wild hook from Marsh. Roy shoots in for a takedown but Marsh shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A telegraphed right hand from Roy misses the target. No luck with that takedown attempt from Roy. Roy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Marsh did well to prevent Roy getting side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marsh slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Roy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Roy throwing strikes but missing. Marsh is looking to sweep but instead, Roy has passed into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Roy lands a nice short elbow. Roy tries to pass to full mount but Marsh defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Roy scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Roy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Marsh's head. Roy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Roy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Marsh with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Marsh keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Marsh is trying to maintain the position but Roy is very close to passing his half guard. Well, if Roy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Marsh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Roy lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Roy lands a nice short elbow. Roy takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Roy slows the pace down in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roy missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Roy slips a nice elbow through Marsh's hands, connecting with Marsh's forehead. Roy controlling the pace. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marsh can do anything to dispel that myth. Roy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Marsh for as long as he can get away with. Roy scoring with strikes to the body and head. Roy is keen to just control but Marsh is a slippery customer. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Roy looks for a takedown but Marsh sprawls well. Roy looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Marsh fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marsh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roy manages to avoid it. Roy feinted with a counter takedown. Roy has his takedown stuffed and Marsh counters with a crisp right hand that drops Roy! Marsh lets Roy back up to his feet, looking for a finish! Marques Roy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Roy lands a decent elbow from side control. Roy misses with the ground and pound. Roy cracks Marsh with an elbow. That is naaassty. Roy throws an elbow but Marsh slips to the side and avoids it well. Roy lands a decent elbow from side control. Roy working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Roy tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roy throws a strike aimed at the side of Marsh's head but Marsh avoids it well. Roy content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Roy landing a few strikes. Roy lands some shots froms side control. Marsh on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Roy looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Marsh is avoiding damage well.
Roy advances to mount. Roy putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roy working away from the top, dropping strikes. Roy with good strikes from the mount here! Roy with shots to the head and body - Marsh looks very uncomfortable down there. BOOM! Roy connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Marsh is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Marsh in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Roy breaks from Marsh's wrist control and lands an elbow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roy lands a big shot there that rocks Marsh but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Marsh is still in real trouble! Can Roy finish him? A big strike lands for Roy! That's really hurt Marsh and he's turned his back - Roy keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Roy jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marques Roy! A relieved looking Marques Roy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
