PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Prokop Pustik (ranked 1510 p4p, 1104 weight class) and Callum Adams (ranked 176 p4p, 135 weight class). Adams has chosen No Noncesense as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pustik lands a nice hook to Adams's body. Adams takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Pustik scores with a jab to the body.
Adams ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Pustik throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Adams looks to land a combination but Pustik avoids it well.
Adams takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

It looks like Callum Adams has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pustik shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Adams pinned against the cage. Adams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Adams throws out a counter right but Pustik avoids it with no problem.

and Adams cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A telegraphed right hand from Adams misses the target.
A little feinted left hand from Pustik on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Pustik throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Adams sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Pustik rushes Adams and presses him up against the cage.

Adams lands a shoulder strike.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Adams.
Adams lands with a right to the head.
Pustik using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Adams has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Adams stops a takedown attempt from Pustik.
Pustik is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Adams gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Adams goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Pustik is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Adams.
Let's hope that Adams has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Adams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pustik is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adams wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've been hearing that Pustik has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams is looking for a sweep. Pustik is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
