The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Rhodeo clinches. Maykit gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rhodeo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Maykit is taking a breather. Rhodeo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rhodeo is trying to get back to full guard. Rhodeo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rhodeo is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Maykit to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Rhodeo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Maykit manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rhodeo has Maykit in his guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Maykit's corner is telling him to maintain position. Maykit seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rhodeo for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rhodeo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rhodeo looking for a triangle here. Maykit is fighting it but it looks tight! Rhodeo pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Maykit is tapping out - this one is all over!
