Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyman Hicks (ranked 697 p4p, 1217 weight class) and Rogerio Yamamoto (ranked 73 p4p, 133 weight class). Hicks comes to the cage accompanied by The Chambers Brothers - Time Has Come Today. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lyman Hicks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rogerio Yamamoto! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hicks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Yamamoto is looking to clinch but Hicks is avoiding it.

and Yamamoto counters with a low kick, right behind Hicks 's knee. Hicks keeps the fight on the outside. Hicks pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Hicks misses the shot to the body. Hicks misses with a body shot.
Yamamoto takes a shot right to the bread basket. Hicks swings for the body but Yamamoto moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hicks ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hicks misses with a lunging right hand

Hicks tries to bum rush Yamamoto with a series of wild strikes but Yamamoto uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hicks has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Yamamoto walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hicks checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Hicks stalks Yamamoto and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Yamamoto's face. Yamamoto staggers backwards, shaken. Hicks swings for the body but Yamamoto moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lyman Hicks. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hicks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
