Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roman Kersikov (ranked 1204 p4p, 2283 weight class) and Legend Debonaire (ranked 162 p4p, 286 weight class). Kersikov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 2 Best Enemies - Phases . Legend Debonaire is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roman Kersikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Legend Debonaire! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Debonaire's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kersikov under the eye. Kersikov has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Debonaire. Debonaire thuds his shin into the meat of Kersikov's side. Debonaire misses with a looping right. Debonaire misses the shot to the body. Kersikov drops down looking for a counter takedown but Debonaire sprawls and moves away. Kersikov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Debonaire moves out of range as Kersikov strikes. Debonaire slips under a jab from Kersikov. Legend Debonaire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Debonaire uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kersikov.
Debonaire throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kersikov. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Debonaire throws a shot from downtown. Kersikov moves away and avoids it. Kersikov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kersikov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Kersikov looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Kersikov looking to sit in guard and control but Debonaire gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kersikov has his hands on Debonaire's head, controlling the position. Kersikov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Debonaire is one step ahead there. Debonaire looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kersikov is controlling Debonaire's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kersikov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kersikov working a defensive guard here.
Kersikov seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Kersikov managing to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kersikov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Debonaire is one step ahead there. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Kersikov has control of Debonaire's left arm, preventing Debonaire from doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Debonaire moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Debonaire scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Kersikov looks to land a right hand but Debonaire moved out of range. Kersikov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Debonaire tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kersikov is in Debonaire's guard. Kersikov throwing strikes from guard but Debonaire blocks nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kersikov distracts Debonaire with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Kersikov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Debonaire pulls Kersikov in close to prevent any damage. Kersikov throws a big right hand that misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kersikov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kersikov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Debonaire swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Legend Debonaire will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Debonaire takes a swing at Kersikov's ribcage but misses. Kersikov appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Debonaire connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. and Debonaire counters with an inside leg kick. Debonaire throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Kersikov fails with a takedown attempt. Kersikov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Debonaire pulls Kersikov in to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kersikov chips away with some ground and pound. Kersikov is looking to work some ground and pound but Debonaire has wrist control. Kersikov trying to control but Debonaire is working from the bottom. That's one minute gone in the round. Kersikov throws an elbow that misses. Debonaire uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kersikov's guard. Nice move by Debonaire! Kersikov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Debonaire manages to get himself to full guard.
Kersikov is looking to pass into half guard but Debonaire pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Debonaire is in guard. Kersikov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kersikov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kersikov has Debonaire pulled in close to control his posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Debonaire is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kersikov has his hands on Debonaire's head, controlling the position. Debonaire avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kersikov wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Debonaire is now in half guard. Roman Kersikov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kersikov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kersikov gets back to full guard.

Kersikov trying to get back to full guard but Debonaire takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Kersikov tries to lock up and control but Debonaire gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kersikov is desperately trying to improve his position but Debonaire has a good base and remains in mount. Debonaire trying to control but Kersikov is having none of it. Kersikov prevents any damage by holding on tight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kersikov is trying to reverse the position but instead Debonaire has taken his back - oops! Kersikov turns into Debonaire and is now in his guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Legend Debonaire will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Kersikov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Roman Kersikov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kersikov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Debonaire looks to score with a jab to the body but Kersikov is just out of range. Kersikov throws a body shot but no joy. Debonaire cracks Kersikov with a good jab. Kersikov throws a hook to the side of Debonaire's head but Debonaire sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Debonaire misses with a right hand letting Kersikov counter with a right hand. Nice defenses there by Debonaire. Debonaire looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Kersikov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Debonaire moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Debonaire misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Debonaire lands a jab to the nose. Kersikov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kersikov trying to mount his opponent but Debonaire defends it. Debonaire is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kersikov scores with a couple of nice shots. Kersikov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Debonaire is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kersikov not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kersikov landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Debonaire avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kersikov. Kersikov throwing shots but Debonaire is blocking nicely. Kersikov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kersikov controlling the pace. Kersikov with the ground and pound but Debonaire uses the opportunity to regain guard. Debonaire preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Debonaire wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Kersikov with a flurry of punches that miss. Kersikov trying to control the position from guard on top but Debonaire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kersikov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Debonaire sees it coming and avoids it easily. Debonaire lands with a straight right. Kersikov didn't see that one coming. Legend Debonaire seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kersikov misses with an uppercut. Kersikov blocks a head kick by Debonaire.
Debonaire misses with a kick to the body and Kersikov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kersikov connects with a nice looking jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kersikov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Debonaire trying to hold on to Kersikov's head to control him but Kersikov postures up.
Kersikov scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Kersikov lands with a punch from half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Debonaire is looking to improve his position.
