Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Julian Bashir (ranked 127 p4p, 676 weight class) and Jim Bob Walton (ranked 7 p4p, 49 weight class). Bashir comes to the cage accompanied by Exodus - The Toxic Waltz. Julian Bashir could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jim Bob Walton's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Bashir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 2, fighting out of New York, Jim Bob Walton! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walton throws a hook but Bashir avoids it easily. It looked like Bashir wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Bashir takes the fight into the clinch. Bashir is looking to take this one to the mat. Walton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Bashir lands a head shot. Bashir moves away from the strike by Walton. Walton throws out a loose jab but Bashir uses good head movement to avoid it. Bashir throws out a powerful jab. Walton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Walton misses with a hook. Bashir ducked under it nicely. Bashir half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Bashir moves into range and connects with a jab. Walton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bashir misses the jab. Walton fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Walton throws a hook to the side of Bashir's head but Bashir sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Walton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bashir.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bashir throws a hook but Walton avoids it easily. Walton takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Bashir throws a body punch but Walton moves out of range. Bashir is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Walton. Walton scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bashir doesn't seem bothered though. Walton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bashir drops back, looking for a kneebar! Walton looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Walton looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Walton! Walton trying to control the position but Bashir is working away. Bashir is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Walton is staying tight to Bashir's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walton working away. Bashir tries to bench press Walton off him but Walton keeps the position. Walton gets to mount! Bashir was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walton controlling his opponent. Bashir is trying to escape the mount.
Walton trying to control but he's not successful this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bashir tries to lock up and control but Walton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bashir is in all sorts of trouble here.
Walton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Walton trying to control but Bashir is having none of it. Bashir wants to hold on but Walton pushes him away. Walton content just to control the position here. Bashir is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Bob Walton dominated that round. That's time! Bashir's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Walton thows a left - swing and a miss! Walton misses with a hook
and Bashir cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bashir digs a good hook to Walton's body.
A nice leg kick from Walton, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bashir moves out of range of the strikes. Bashir avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A lazy left from Bashir finds it's target. Bashir dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Walton throws a right hand that misses
and Bashir counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bashir scores with a shot to the body.
Bashir steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Walton. A jab from Walton does it's job there. This has been an exciting period of action! Walton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so Bashir counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Walton pulls Bashir in close to his closed guard and prevents Bashir from doing any damage or advancing position. Bashir trying to control but Walton is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bashir chips away with some ground and pound. Walton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bashir takes one to the chin there. Bashir looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Walton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Walton throws a poor cross that misses
and Bashir counters with a lovely straight right hand! Walton looks to score with a jab to the body but Bashir is just out of range. Walton looks to land a right hand but Bashir moved out of range. Walton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bashir manages to avoid it. Walton looking to land some kicks to the body here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bashir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walton keeps working. Bashir lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Julian Bashir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Walton is trying to get back to full guard. Bashir misses with a head shot. Walton uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Walton preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bashir with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Walton lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Walton wants to slow Bashir down by chopping away at his legs. Bashir appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Bashir uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Walton. Walton throws the left hand but Bashir avoids the punch easily. Walton throws an off balance right hand
and Bashir counters with a stiff right hand. Jim Bob Walton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bashir jabs Walton right on the nose. Walton blinks but takes it well. Walton misses with an uppercut. Walton throws a body punch but Bashir moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bashir fails with a takedown attempt. Jim Bob Walton seems to be getting the better of the standup. Bashir lands with an uppercut that bounces Walton off the cage and back into range. Walton misses with a looping right. Jim Bob Walton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bashir throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Walton was covering up waiting for the punch and Bashir finishes the takedown easily into guard. Walton is trying to keep Bashir in close.

Bashir drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Walton manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bashir has Walton in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bashir controls Walton momentarily but Walton frees himself. Walton wanted to stand there but Bashir had control of the position. Bashir pulls Walton in close to prevent any damage. Bashir working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Walton with a jab. Walton scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Walton looks to land a right hand but Bashir moved out of range. Bashir displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Walton throws out the jab. Walton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bashir lands with a cross. Walton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bashir manages to avoid it. Walton lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bashir misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Walton.

Nice uppercut there from Bashir. Walton throws a wild body kick that Bashir sees coming a mile off.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Bob Walton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Walton has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
