Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Macka Briggs (ranked 1623 p4p, 1392 weight class) and Hudson Clarkson (ranked 194 p4p, 166 weight class). Briggs comes to the cage accompanied by Stepping Razor by Peter Tosh. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Macka Briggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hudson Clarkson!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clarkson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Clarkson wants to counter with a clinch but Briggs pushes him away.
Briggs misses with a looping left.
Briggs misses with a combination

and Clarkson counters by clinching up.
Clarkson misses with a short punch on the inside.

Clarkson decides to pull guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Clarkson holds on and takes a little breather.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clarkson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Clarkson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Clarkson wants to work for an arm triangle but Briggs is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Clarkson seems to be looking for submissions.

Briggs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Clarkson controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Clarkson is taking a breather. Briggs says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Briggs is refusing to be controlled, as Clarkson sits in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Briggs misses with the combination.
Clarkson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Briggs lands with a right hand.

Briggs looks to land a combination but Clarkson avoids it well.
Macka Briggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Clarkson moves away from the strike by Briggs.

Briggs moves into range and clinches up with Clarkson.
Briggs lands a shoulder strike.
Clarkson tries to pull guard but Briggs won't allow it.
Briggs definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Still in the clinch, Briggs scores with a nice short uppercut.
Clarkson misses with a hook from the clinch.

Clarkson jumps guard but Briggs stands there with Clarkson around his waist. Clarkson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Briggs lands a body punch in the clinch.
Briggs lands an elbow that stopped Clarkson in his tracks for a moment.
Briggs lands a right hand.
Briggs gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Clarkson.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Macka Briggs dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Briggs throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Briggs sets himself, and Clarkson steps forward looking for the clinch! Briggs avoids it this time.
Briggs lands an overhand right.

Briggs clinches with his opponent.
Briggs lands a right hand that snaps the head of Clarkson backwards.
Clarkson lands a nice shot to the body.

Briggs breaks from the clinch.
Briggs throws a right and a left that both miss.
Briggs misses with a body shot

and Clarkson counters with a shoot takedown. Briggs fights it but they end up in guard.
Clarkson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Briggs is staying active underneath Clarkson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Clarkson is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Clarkson trying to control from half guard but Briggs is working away.
Clarkson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Briggs haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Clarkson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Briggs knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Clarkson is working for an americana but Briggs has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Clarkson was thinking about the submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Clarkson trying to control the position from guard on top but Briggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Clarkson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Briggs lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Clarkson backs up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Briggs gets a clinch.

Clarkson drags the fight down to the ground.
Briggs wants to get up but he can't break Clarkson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Clarkson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Clarkson controls Briggs momentarily but Briggs frees himself.

Briggs gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Briggs drives through and clinches with Clarkson against the cage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Clarkson holds on and takes a little breather.
Briggs postures up.
Briggs is looking to stand up but Clarkson won't let him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Clarkson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Macka Briggs dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Nice straight punches there by Briggs. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Briggs.
Briggs is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Clarkson can do to turn this around?
Jab, jab by Briggs - just one landing.
Briggs cracks Clarkson with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Clarkson falls to his knees and Briggs doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Macka Briggs!
During a confident post fight interview, Macka Briggs thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Hudson Clarkson was interviewed post fight and said 'You win some and you lose some, hats off to my opponent he came prepared and was the better fighter tonight.'.
