Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Shaw (ranked 1115 p4p, 1309 weight class) and Iron Side (ranked 152 p4p, 186 weight class). Shaw comes to the cage accompanied by Elvis Costello - My Mood Swings. Side has chosen In the Dark - Vintage Culture, Fancy Inc as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Iron Side!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shaw shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Shaw postures up.
Shaw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Shaw preventing the sweep.
Shaw slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Shaw is trying to get an arm triangle but Side is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Side prevents Shaw from improving position.

Side tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Side wants to control but Shaw postures up.
Shaw tries to advance to mount but can't.
Shaw advances nicely into full mount.
Side is trying desperately to improve position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shaw takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shaw is looking for the choke from the back position but Side is controlling his hands well.

Shaw is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Side defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Shaw is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Side knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Side for a finish.
Side really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shaw patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Shaw controlling well, preventing Side from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Side is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Side prevents Shaw from getting a body triangle.
Side is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Shaw off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Shaw is hanging on to Side's back as he tries to escape.

You can see the frustration on Side's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Shaw is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Side staying busy and making it hard for Shaw to control.

Shaw not allowing Side to control his hands.
Side tries to break free.

Shaw is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Side knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Side for a finish.

Side is trying to escape the mount but Shaw keeps good control and instead manages to take Side's back.

Shaw has got his arm under Side's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Side has spun round into Shaw's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Side with a flurry of punches that miss.
Side looking to sit in guard and control but Shaw gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Shaw wants to pass the guard but Side is keeping the position.
Side is trying to control the position but Shaw postures up.

Side has his hands on Shaw's head, controlling the position.
Side keeping full guard, as Shaw tries to pass.
Shaw is working hard here to advance position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shaw slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Shaw dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Side throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Shaw misses with a wild body shot.
Side appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Shaw misses with a takedown attempt - Side sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Shaw throws a poor cross that misses
and Side counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Side uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shaw.
As Shaw backs off Side throws a huge counter combo but Shaw manages to avoid it all.
Side has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Shaw is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Side has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shaw.
Side scores with a one two! Shaw had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Danny Shaw has been cut.
Side stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shaw.
Shaw throws a leg kick which misses Side's front leg but catches the back leg as Side tries to avoid it.
Side will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shaw appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Shaw paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shaw misses the body punch
and Side counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shaw tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Side is able to avoid easily.
A nice side step and Side releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Shaw lands an overhand right.
Side grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Shaw takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Side cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Iron Side!
