Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Willie Dixon (ranked 1048 p4p, 1134 weight class) and Michal Sykora (ranked 75 p4p, 79 weight class). Willie Dixon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Willie Dixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michal Sykora! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sykora looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dixon tries to counter with a takedown but Sykora is quick to defend against it. Sykora moves into range and connects with a jab. Sykora throws a big shot that misses. Dixon feinted with a counter takedown. Dixon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Sykora works the jab nicely. Sykora scores with a head kick.
Sykora lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Dixon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The fighters circling - Sykora throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Sykora throws a head kick that misses. Sykora throws the kick towards the body but Dixon avoids it. Dixon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sykora throws out the jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dixon is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Sykora with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

I was talking to Dixon's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Sykora tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A nice right hand lands inside from Sykora. Sykora trying to control the position but instead, Dixon has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sykora into the cage. Sykora misses with a knee strike.

Sykora swings wildly with an uppercut but Dixon uses good head movement to avoid it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dixon jumps guard but Sykora turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Dixon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sykora trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dixon's guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Dixon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sykora stands up from Dixon's guard - Sykora perhaps looking for a knockout. A slapping body kick lands there for Sykora. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Michal Sykora dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Sykora tries a head kick but it misses.

The fighters circle momentarily. Sykora darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Sykora misses the shot to the body. Michal Sykora seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Donk. Sykora catches Dixon right on the button with a cross. Sykora throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Sykora connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Dixon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dixon was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dixon slips under a jab. Dixon drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sykora sprawls and moves away. Sykora misses with a wild combination.

Nice shot lands for Sykora. Sykora jabs at Dixon's body. Sykora tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dixon was well out of range. Poor timing from Sykora. Sykora throws an off balance right hand
and Dixon counters with a straight right hand. Nice uppercut there from Sykora. Dixon avoids the body shot from Sykora.
Dixon was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Sykora has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jab from Sykora. Dixon takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Sykora throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sykora throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Dixon appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sykora connects with an inside leg kick. Sykora misses with a body kick. Sykora throws a lazy head kick and Dixon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Dixon advances to half guard. Sykora has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Dixon is on him like a limpet, forcing Sykora back against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Sykora fails to land. Dixon blocking some punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon tries to pull guard but Sykora holds him up against the cage and eventually Dixon drops back down to his feet.

Sykora has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Dixon seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Sykora can turn it around. Sykora tries a knee to the head but Dixon blocks it.

Dixon tightens his grip and picks Sykora up, before dumping him to the ground. Sykora manages to land in guard. Sykora wants to get back to his feet but Dixon is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Dixon slips nicely into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sykora is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dixon is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sykora! Sykora squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Dixon goes for an armbar but Sykora turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sykora. Willie Dixon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sykora stands up from Dixon's guard - Sykora perhaps looking for a knockout. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Michal Sykora showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Sykora misses with a lunging right hand

Michal Sykora seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sykora lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dixon backwards. A knee to the head by Sykora.
Dixon jumps guard and drags Sykora to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Sykora wants to get up but he can't break Dixon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sykora is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Dixon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sykora defends it easily. Sykora wanted to stand there but Dixon had control of the position. Dixon has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sykora doesn't defend quickly enough and Dixon has managed to lock this one up! Can Sykora escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dixon on a fantastic submission victory.
