Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gary Andary (ranked 1283 p4p, 5010 weight class) and Pope Cozad (ranked 129 p4p, 400 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cozad's choice of entrance music: Spirit In The Sky- Norman Greenbaum. Pope Cozad struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gary Andary!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pope Cozad!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cozad clinches.
Cozad is trying to pull guard but Andary has him pressed against the cage.
Cozad misses with some punches.
Andary digs a right hand underneath Cozad's ribcage. Cozad let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Cozad throws a punch but it's blocked by Andary.
Andary lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Cozad tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cozad misses with a punch to the body.
Andary throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Cozads head.
A left hand lands to the body for Andary.
A short uppercut from Andary.
Cozad misses with a hook from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Andary.
Andary blocks an uppercut.
Andary works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A short right from Andary on the inside.
A head punch on the inside from Cozad fails to land.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Andary breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cozad rushes Andary and presses him up against the cage.
Cozad can't find room to land a body shot as Andary controls the action.
Cozad tries to pull guard but Andary holds him up against the cage and eventually Cozad drops back down to his feet.
Gary Andary has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pope Cozad.
Cozad makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Andary blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Cozad goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Cozad tries to work over Andary's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Cozad successfully pulls guard.
Andary advances position into side control!
Cozad prevents Andary from improving position.
Andary has control of an arm but Cozad manages to advance to Andary's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Andary is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Cozad is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Andary might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cozad is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Andary knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Andary for a finish.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Cozad is trying to stick to Andary's back but Andary is turning into Cozad. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Cozad's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Andary.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cozad can't keep his opponent in guard - Andary advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Andary is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Well, if Andary is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cozad wants to control but Andary is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cozad is in trouble now - Andary has advanced to mount!
Cozad is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cozad has given up his back.
Andary looking for the choke from the back.
Andary working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Cozad is doing well to defend. Andary seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Cozad is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gary Andary!
Our winner, Gary Andary, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
