Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cathal Doherty (ranked 354 p4p, 218 weight class) and Gord Ryan (ranked 43 p4p, 22 weight class). Doherty comes to the cage accompanied by Jeremy- Pearl Jam. Ryan has chosen Rusty Cage as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cathal Doherty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gord Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty throws a jab when Ryan was well out of range.
Ryan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dohertys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Cathal Doherty has been cut.
Ryan takes one on the button.
It looks like Gord Ryan has been cut.
Ryan scores with a shot to the body.
A jab from Doherty misses.
Doherty misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Doherty takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Doherty misses the jab.
Nice uppercut there from Doherty.
Ryan throws a body shot but no joy.
A jab from Doherty misses.
Ryan moves out of range of the strikes.
A little jabbing left from Ryan on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
A slow jab from Doherty misses its intended target.
Ryan now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Ryan slips under a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ryan gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Doherty misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ryan cracks Doherty with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Doherty looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away� can Ryan finish him?
Doherty is rocked!
Doherty switches off momentarily and Ryan cracks him with a monster right hand! Doherty topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Ryan dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Ryan!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gord Ryan!
Our winner, Gord Ryan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
