Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sparring John (ranked 678 p4p, 874 weight class) and Tino Takala (ranked 97 p4p, 117 weight class). Sparring John has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sparring John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tino Takala! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John rushes Takala and presses him up against the cage. Takala breaks from the clinch.
John swings widly with a right hand
and Takala counters with a one-two to the body. John looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. John moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. John tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Takala manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Takala takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. John throws an off balance right hand
and John takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. John throws a hook but Takala blocks it. Takala is looking for the big counter here. John wants to clinch letting Takala counter with a right hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. John scores with a three punch combo!

That's one minute gone in the round. John gets in close and instigates a clinch. Takala blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

and Takala counters with a right hand to the body. John tries to close the distance and clinch but Takala swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A swing and a miss from John. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Takala! But no joy. A left lands for John. Takala swats away the attempt to clinch by John. As John backs off Takala throws a huge counter combo but John manages to avoid it all. Takala slips a straight right by John.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John tries to close the distance and clinch but Takala swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. John has closed the distance and engaged Takala in a clinch.

Sparring John dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Takala avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

And that's the end of the fight! Sparring John showed his dominance in that final round. Well John has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
