Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aleks Nik (ranked 398 p4p, 961 weight class) and Maxim Ward (ranked 63 p4p, 139 weight class). Nik's entrance music is Ноггано - стволок за поясок. A fine choice. Ward has chosen ERA - Ameno as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aleks Nik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maxim Ward!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nik shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nik showed some decent athleticism there.
Nik tries to pass to full mount but Ward defends it.
Nik drops an elbow to the side of Ward's head.
Ward controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Nik stops Ward from getting back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ward has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Kaptajnernes Træningscenter. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Ward stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nik swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ward takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Nice uppercut lands for Nik. That snapped Ward's head back.
It looks like Nik has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Ward clobbers Nik with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Ward gets caught flat footed, as Nik shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
