Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Petrov (ranked 36 p4p, 138 weight class) and Kwame Nti (ranked 9 p4p, 21 weight class). Petrov comes to the cage accompanied by Черная Волга. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Petrov.
Petrov lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Nti scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Petrov doesn't seem bothered though.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Petrov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nti has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nti and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Nti closes the distance and clinches up with Petrov, looking for a takedown. Nti pushes Petrov against the cage but Petrov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ivan Petrov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some bone on bone action there as Nti checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Nti takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Nti might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Petrov lands with a straight right. Nti didn't see that one coming.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Nti crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Petrov - the referee stops the clock and Nti gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Petrov. Nti manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Nti might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Petrov has got the better of the exchanges.

and Nti decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Petrov's guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Petrov is on top in guard.

Petrov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nti swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Petrov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Petrov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Petrov is trying to control. Nti wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petrov is stalling here. Nti is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Petrov seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nti has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Petrov is looking for a sweep.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Nti thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Petrov's head.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Petrov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
