Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Lima (ranked 2189 p4p, 1267 weight class) and Caleb DeCoteau (ranked 262 p4p, 164 weight class). Caleb DeCoteau has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ricardo Lima's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Lima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Caleb DeCoteau!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeCoteau misses with a wild body shot.
DeCoteau stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and DeCoteau wants it to stay on the feet.
DeCoteau throws a counter combo.
DeCoteau motions for Lima to come forward. DeCoteau throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Lima darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lima trying to pass the guard but DeCoteau defending well.
DeCoteau is looking for a sweep. Lima is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Lima wants to work for an arm triangle but DeCoteau is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
DeCoteau is trying to get back to full guard.
DeCoteau makes his way to full guard. A much better position for DeCoteau.

Lima tries to score a power double leg takedown but DeCoteau sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lima somewhat.

Ricardo Lima overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

DeCoteau escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lima gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lima is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

DeCoteau is trying to control the position from the bottom.
DeCoteau avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

DeCoteau pulls Lima in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
DeCoteau throws a lazy right hand but Lima sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
No joy there for DeCoteau, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
DeCoteau misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lima.

DeCoteau manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lima manages to get himself to full guard.


Lima is looking for a triangle here but DeCoteau uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Lima tries to buck DeCoteau off but DeCoteau is having none of it.

Lima tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but DeCoteau defends well and Lima ends up having to push DeCoteau into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

DeCoteau is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lima's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lima's back!

DeCoteau is trying to stick to Lima's back but Lima is turning into DeCoteau. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in DeCoteau's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lima.

Lima wants to control from the top but DeCoteau keeps moving.
DeCoteau is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
