Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Manfred (ranked 751 p4p, 1574 weight class) and Danny Shaw (ranked 95 p4p, 212 weight class). Shaw has chosen Elvis Costello - My Mood Swings as his entrance music. Danny Shaw will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Klaus Manfred! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Shaw! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw lands with an uppercut that bounces Manfred off the cage and back into range. Shaw throws a shot to the body.
Manfred swats away the attempt to clinch by Shaw. We've been informed that Shaw has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Shaw shoots in for a double leg but Manfred sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Manfred throws a looping overhand right but Shaw ducks down to avoid it. Shaw swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Shaw takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Shaw fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Manfred decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Shaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've been hearing that Manfred has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Manfred is looking to take a break and control but Shaw is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Manfred takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Shaw is looking to improve his position.

Manfred looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Shaw is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Manfred pulls his head out easily. Manfred lands strikes from half guard. Shaw actively working from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shaw is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manfred seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shaw does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Shaw is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Manfred scores with a couple of nice shots. Manfred wants to control but Shaw is keeping him busy. Manfred is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Shaw works his way to full guard. Good work. Shaw is looking for a triangle but Manfred pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shaw is looking for a triangle but Manfred pushes his legs off easily.
Manfred stands up over Shaw, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Manfred missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Manfred wants to control from the top but Shaw keeps moving. Shaw throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Manfred is pushing down on Shaw's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shaw is fighting to maintain full guard but Manfred has managed to sneak the leg through. Shaw moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Manfred lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Manfred has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Manfred content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Manfred postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Shaw has his foot on Manfred's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Manfred works his way back into a safe position though. Shaw is looking for a triangle but Manfred pushes his legs off easily.

Manfred sitting in guard here, content to control. Manfred chips away with some ground and pound. Shaw working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Manfred.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Shaw is looking for a triangle here but Manfred uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Manfred tries to move to full mount but Shaw actually manages to regain half guard. Shaw taking some punishment here, with Manfred in his half guard. Manfred landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Shaw tries to roll over but Manfred keeps him under control. Manfred passes to side control. Shaw tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Shaw is rocked! Manfred cracks Shaw with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Manfred immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Shaw is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Manfred!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Klaus Manfred! Klaus Manfred seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
