Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Rome (ranked 22 p4p, 40 weight class) and Da Jiang (ranked 2 p4p, 6 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 24 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Curtis Rome!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, Da Jiang!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rome's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jiang connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rome scrambles back to his feet.

and Jiang connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rome lands a nice hook to Jiang's body. Jiang takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

We've been hearing reports that Rome has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Rome has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jiang is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rome.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jiang lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Rome has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Rome and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
