Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Oneal (ranked 2939 p4p, 3447 weight class) and Nacho Palhares (ranked 352 p4p, 402 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mason Oneal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nacho Palhares!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oneal swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Palhares wants to clinch up but Oneal keeps it at a distance.
Oneal tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Palhares swivels and escapes.
Oneal misses with a looping right.
Palhares is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

and Oneal counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Palhares drives through and clinches with Oneal against the cage.
Palhares tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Oneal just stands there and leans against the cage.

Palhares jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Oneal walks away with a smile on his face. Palhares gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Oneal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Palhares as he avoids it easily.
Oneal lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Palhares moves into range and clinches up with Oneal.
Palhares jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Oneal walks away with a smile on his face. Palhares gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mason Oneal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nacho Palhares.
Palhares tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Oneal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Oneal looks to land a combination but Palhares avoids it well.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Palhares can do anything to dispel that myth.
