Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jake Rodrigues (ranked 321 p4p, 387 weight class) and Stan Man (ranked 31 p4p, 34 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jake Rodrigues! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 16 - 2, fighting out of London, Stan Man! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodrigues lands with an overhand left. Man avoids the body shot from Rodrigues.
Man chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rodrigues can pounce on him.
Rodrigues displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Man fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rodrigues sprawls well initially but Man persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Man sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rodrigues defending well though. Man is trying to work for a kimura but Rodrigues is defending well.
Man scores with a couple of good hammerfists. This has been an exciting period of action! Man thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Man wants to pass to mount but Rodrigues is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Man is trying to control the action in half guard but Rodrigues is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Man is looking for a kimura but Rodrigues is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Man to get the leverage. Rodrigues avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Man. Man trying to control the pace. Man tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Man is trying to work for a kimura but Rodrigues is defending well.
Man seems to be working for a kimura but Rodrigues defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Man is pressing down on Rodrigues's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rodrigues is holding on for now. Man missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Man moves nicely into side control. Rodrigues is looking to regain half guard here but Man keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. An elbow from Man crashes against the mat.
Man wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodrigues keeps working. Man working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Man trying to control the position but Rodrigues is working away.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Man takes a body punch but keeps moving. Rodrigues bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Rodrigues keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rodrigues throws a body punch but Man moves out of range. Rodrigues lands a body shot.
Man takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Man shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Man tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rodrigues. Man is nestled in close to Rodrigues, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Man controlling the pace. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jake Rodrigues will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Rodrigues comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Man takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Man shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rodrigues sprawls well. Rodrigues wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Man gets slowly back to his feet. Rodrigues tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Man manages to circle out of the way. Sloppy strikes from Rodrigues. Those never looked like landing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rodrigues stuffs the takedown attempt from Man. Man gets slowly back to his feet. Man closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's one minute gone in the round. Man walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Rodrigues slaps away a takedown attempt from Man, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jake Rodrigues has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Man. Jab, jab by Rodrigues - just one landing. Man drives through with a takedown into Rodrigues's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Rodrigues seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Man pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rodrigues is keeping the position for now. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Man's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Man slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Man taking a break here but Rodrigues is having none of it and regains half guard. Man is looking to take a break and control but Rodrigues is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rodrigues keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rodrigues is looking for a sweep. Man is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man stalling. Man throws a strike but Rodrigues avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Man wants to control from the top but Rodrigues keeps moving. Stan Man has got the better of the ground game so far. Man throws an elbow that misses. Rodrigues uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Man's guard. Nice move by Rodrigues!
Rodrigues has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Man trying to keep a closed guard but Rodrigues is proving a slippery customer.
Man might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rodrigues haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Man controlling the position. Man escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rodrigues gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Man seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rodrigues won't allow Man to sweep him here. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Man pulls Rodrigues in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Rodrigues dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Rodrigues lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Rodrigues lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Man takes one to the side of the head.
Rodrigues scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Man doesn't seem bothered though. Rodrigues fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rodrigues cracks Man with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Rodrigues lands a slapping body shot.
Man fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodrigues connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Rodrigues works the jab nicely. It looks like Rodrigues has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. A slapping leg kick lands for Rodrigues.
Man takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Rodrigues throws a leg kick which misses Man's front leg but catches the back leg as Man tries to avoid it. Man shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A lazy left from Rodrigues finds it's target. A low kick lands for Rodrigues.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodrigues just misses with a punch to the body.
Rodrigues lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rodrigues. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rodrigues throws a body punch but Man moves out of range. Man closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rodrigues circles away. Jake Rodrigues has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stan Man. Man closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rodrigues avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Man. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Man lands a nice short elbow. Man drops an elbow to the side of Rodrigues's head. Rodrigues keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Man seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rodrigues is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Stan Man! After winning the bout, Stan Man thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
