Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Hall (ranked 738 p4p, 1861 weight class) and Jonathas Araujo (ranked 69 p4p, 168 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonathas Araujo!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hall shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Araujo won't allow Hall to pass to mount.

Hall wants to free his trapped foot but Araujo is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Hall is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Araujo is just riding it out for now. Hall eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hall is defending against the submission attempts here by Araujo.
Hall is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Araujo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Araujo's back!

Araujo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hall manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Araujo has Hall in his guard.

A close second round but Jonathas Araujo will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hall closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Araujo bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Richard Hall will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Araujo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hall but Hall pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Hall shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Araujo's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Araujo holds on and takes a little breather.

Hall drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Araujo dives on top into guard.

Hall seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
