Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tevin Shay (ranked 321 p4p, 1717 weight class) and Patrick Nielson (ranked 39 p4p, 194 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tevin Shay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Nielson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nielson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shay definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Shay uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Shay misses with a wild body shot.
Nielson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shay connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nielson scrambles back to his feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nielson, as that shot connected.
Shay takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nielson throws the left hand but Shay avoids the punch easily.
Nielson missing with a left hand there. Shay was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Shay drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nielson sprawls and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nielson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Nielson throws a jab when Shay was well out of range.
Nielson throws a front kick that sends Shay stumbling back into the cage.

Shay avoids a kick to the body.
Shay was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Nielson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Shay misses with a straight right.
Nielson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shay on the side of the head.
Nielson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Shay counters with a single leg into guard. Nielson didn't expect that.
Nielson has his foot on Shay's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shay works his way back into a safe position though.
Shay is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Nielson is trying to control the position but Shay postures up.
Shay throws a big right hand that misses.

Nielson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shay defends it easily.
Shay wants to pass the guard but Nielson is keeping the position.
Shay works over Nielson with some ground and pound from guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nielson looking to control but Shay passes into half guard.

Shay is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nielson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Shay is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nielson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Nielson is working to get back to half guard.

The referee warns Nielson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
BOOM! Shay connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Nielson is looking to get to half guard.
Nielson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Shay landing strikes, looking to finish!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
