Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinicius Tonioli (ranked 586 p4p, 1005 weight class) and David Hanson (ranked 78 p4p, 137 weight class). Hanson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Subcouds - on red. Vinicius Tonioli has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vinicius Tonioli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, David Hanson! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Richard Clark.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Hanson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tonioli's guard. Tonioli is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Tonioli is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tonioli trying to keep a closed guard but Hanson is proving a slippery customer.
Hanson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Hanson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tonioli is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tonioli has escaped and now he's on top!
Hanson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hanson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Tonioli has passed into side control.
Hanson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tonioli wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hanson throws an elbow that doesn't really do any damage.
Hanson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tonioli presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Hanson is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Hanson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hanson manages to regain half guard. Good work. Hanson tries to roll over but Tonioli keeps him under control. Hanson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hanson wants to get back to full guard. Hanson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hanson actively working from the bottom here. Hanson is looking for a sweep. Tonioli is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tonioli performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Hanson gets full guard.
Hanson looking for subs off his back but Tonioli has passed one foot through into half guard.
Tonioli trying to control the action but Hanson is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hanson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Tonioli has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanson swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Hanson is desperately trying to improve his position but Tonioli has a good base and remains in mount. Hanson tries to improve his position but instead Tonioli has taken his back! Tonioli has the hooks in. Hanson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Tonioli doesn't have the hooks in and Hanson manages to turn into his guard.
Hanson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hanson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tonioli works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tonioli bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hanson's guard.

Hanson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hanson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Hanson keeping full guard, as Tonioli tries to pass. Hanson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tonioli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hanson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hanson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tonioli passes into side control.
Hanson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hanson wants to sweep but Tonioli has passed to side control! Hanson regains half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vinicius Tonioli will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Tonioli loads up on a big right hand but Hanson slips the punch. Hanson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Tonioli feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hansons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Sloppy strikes from Tonioli. Those never looked like landing. Tonioli tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tonioli misses with a head kick.
Hanson fails with the takedown and Hanson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hanson goes for a double leg but Tonioli avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tonioli continues to drive forward. Tonioli throwing a counter right hand but Hanson manages to avoid it. Tonioli throws a jab but it's blocked by Hanson. Tonioli misses with a hook. A jab from Tonioli does it's job there. Tonioli tries to bum rush Hanson with a series of wild strikes but Hanson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Hanson shoots in and drives through. Tonioli sprawls well. An attempted straight right counter from Tonioli misses the target. Vinicius Tonioli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Hanson.
Hanson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tonioli napping and manages to drive through into side control! Tonioli tries to improve position but can't.
Hanson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Tonioli tries to bench press Hanson off him but Hanson keeps the position. Tonioli is working hard here to advance position. Vinicius Tonioli overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tonioli manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hanson's best efforts.
Hanson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tonioli sees it coming and defends easily. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Tonioli is looking to control Hanson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tonioli avoid being mounted? Tonioli avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hanson. Tonioli trying to control here.
Tonioli is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hanson can do to turn this around? Ground and pound from Hanson.
 It looks like Vinicius Tonioli has been cut. Hanson working over Tonioli with some ground and pound. Tonioli looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Tonioli gets full guard. Hanson lands a couple of elbows. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hanson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hanson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hanson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Tonioli pulls Hanson in close to his closed guard and prevents Hanson from doing any damage or advancing position. Tonioli trying to control the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Hanson stands up over Tonioli, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
 Vinicius Tonioli's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Vinicius Tonioli's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
