Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Lancaster (ranked 1657 p4p, 1177 weight class) and Matt McDonalds (ranked 69 p4p, 38 weight class). Lancaster comes to the cage accompanied by Slipknot - I Am Hated. Shane Lancaster could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Matt McDonalds's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Lancaster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt McDonalds!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonalds avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McDonalds only half commits to the counter leg kick.

Lancaster changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McDonalds looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McDonalds is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lancaster is controlling him well.
McDonalds parries the strikes from Lancaster easily there. Lancaster is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McDonalds to escape.
Lancaster working the ground and pound but McDonalds is defending the strikes.
Lancaster tries to advance to mount but can't.
McDonalds managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lancaster.
Lancaster tries to score with some ground and pound. McDonalds controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Lancaster lands a decent elbow from side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lancaster postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

McDonalds sneaks out the side door and pushes Lancaster away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Lancaster fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McDonalds sprawls well initially but Lancaster persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

McDonalds felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
McDonalds keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
McDonalds is staying active underneath Lancaster, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Lancaster thows a huge punch but McDonalds dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lancaster prevents McDonalds from standing back up.
Lancaster looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McDonalds with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lancaster is looking to take a break and control but McDonalds is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McDonalds kicks Lancaster off and gets back to his feet.
Lancaster is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McDonalds.
Lancaster scores with a jab. McDonalds acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

It looks like Matt McDonalds has been cut.

McDonalds throws a series of punches but Lancaster avoids them all with ease.
McDonalds fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
McDonalds tries to work over Lancaster's front leg with a kick but Lancaster checks it.
Matt McDonalds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDonalds takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
McDonalds cracks Lancaster with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
McDonalds catches Lancaster with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
McDonalds ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
McDonalds misses with a leg kick

so Lancaster counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

McDonalds kicks Lancaster off and gets to his feet.
Lancaster is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lancaster throws a jab when McDonalds was well out of range.
McDonalds lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
McDonalds digs a good hook to Lancaster's body.
McDonalds with the inside leg kick.
McDonalds lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
McDonalds with a body punch. A glancing blow.
McDonalds misses with a wild body shot.
McDonalds lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lancaster takes one to the side of the head.
McDonalds tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lancaster was well out of range. Poor timing from McDonalds.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Matt McDonalds dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Lancaster's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

McDonalds lands a really nice looking cross but Lancaster seems unphased.
McDonalds throws a leg kick

and Lancaster counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lancaster.

McDonalds pushes Lancaster off and gets back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lancaster is defended easily by McDonalds.
A chopping leg kick lands by McDonalds.

McDonalds drops Lancaster with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Lancaster looks back up at him and smiles so McDonalds waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McDonalds throws a body punch but Lancaster moves out of range.
Lancaster tries to score a power double leg takedown but McDonalds sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lancaster somewhat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McDonalds feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Lancaster collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Matt McDonalds!
Matt McDonalds decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
