Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Olyksandr Chai (ranked 1491 p4p, 1121 weight class) and Rodrigo Duterte (ranked 184 p4p, 143 weight class). Rodrigo Duterte is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chai takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Chai throws a hook but Duterte blocks it.
Duterte takes a jab right on the kisser.
Chai tries to clinch but Duterte moves out of range.
Duterte lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Olyksandr Chai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chai swings around for an armbar but Duterte sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Chai's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duterte accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chai is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Duterte's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Duterte's back!
Chai is not going to allow Duterte to sit and survive in this position.
Chai looking to break Duterte's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Duterte remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Chai will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Chai has control of Duterte's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Duterte regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Chai has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Duterte has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

After the fight, Rodrigo Duterte was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
