Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Tucker (ranked 730 p4p, 646 weight class) and Randy Wieland (ranked 95 p4p, 86 weight class). Wieland comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ran-D - Zombie kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeffrey Tucker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Wieland! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wieland slips a straight right by Tucker. Tucker takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. A slow jab from Tucker misses its intended target. Wieland lands with a shot to the body. Wieland lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. A low kick from Tucker is predictable there and Wieland counters with a nice double leg into guard. Tucker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wieland's guard. Wieland is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tucker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Wieland throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wieland looking for a sweep. Not yet Wieland, not yet. Wieland has his foot on Tucker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tucker works his way back into a safe position though. Wieland is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tucker is aware though and is defending well. Wieland bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tucker's guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Wieland prevents Tucker from getting back to his feet. Wieland postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Wieland controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Wieland trying to control but Tucker is working from the bottom. Tucker working for a triangle but Wieland defends it easily.
Tucker wants to sweep here but Wieland controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wieland scoring with punches to the head and body. Wieland missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Wieland has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wieland passes Tucker's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Wieland throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wieland performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Wieland missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Wieland wants to control but Tucker is keeping him busy. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Wieland wants to work for an arm triangle but Tucker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Randy Wieland dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Wieland steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tucker. Wieland is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Tucker with a body shot. Tucker misses with a right hand and Wieland counters with a nice uppercut. Tucker showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wieland.
Tucker cracks Wieland with a right hand to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tucker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wieland finds it's way round the side to connect with Tucker's head. Tucker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wieland drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Tucker defends it well. Jeffrey Tucker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wieland is defended easily by Tucker.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tucker misses with a hook. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wieland! But no joy. Tucker misses with a head kick.

Wieland scores with a jab. Tucker acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Randy Wieland seems to be getting the better of the standup. Wieland blocks a jab. Wieland has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Wieland with a hook. Tucker misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Wieland to counter with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tucker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tucker with a jab. Tucker throws a low kick, looking for Wieland's leg but Wieland calmly moves out of range. Wieland takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Tucker throws a lazy body kick and Wieland counters with a nice body shot. Wieland uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tucker.
Wieland tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tucker misses with a combination
and Wieland cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tucker looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Wieland with the counter takedown but Tucker avoids it easily. Tucker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wieland misses the shot to the body. Tucker misses with a body punch
and Wieland counters with a straight right hand. Wieland lands a jab to Tucker's midsection. Wieland ducks under a wild hook from Tucker. Tucker misses with a body punch
and Wieland counters with a straight right hand. A bone on bone clash there as Wieland blocks the leg kick.
Wieland swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Wieland looks to land a left hand but Tucker moved out of range nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wieland with a hook. Wieland takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Wieland fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Wieland dips down and scores with a jab to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wieland slips a straight right by Tucker. Wieland uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tucker.

Randy Wieland showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Tucker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! An inside leg kick lands from Tucker. Tucker scores with a jab to the body. Wieland shoots in and gets a takedown into Tucker's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wieland working some strikes from top position. Wieland cracks Tucker with a solid left hand. Wieland is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Wieland throws a big right hand that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wieland slips nicely into half guard. Wieland is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wieland sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tucker defending well though. Jeffrey Tucker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wieland is nestled in close to Tucker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Wieland lands strikes from half guard. Wieland drops an elbow to the side of Tucker's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wieland working the head and body with strikes. Wieland scoring with strikes to the body and head. Wieland looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wieland takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Tucker is trying to get back to full guard. Wieland throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wieland missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Tucker is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wieland scores with a couple of nice shots. Nice strikes from Wieland there.
Tucker is rocked! Wieland lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Tucker! More strikes land and this one is all over! Wieland jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randy Wieland! After winning the bout, Randy Wieland thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
