Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Willie Dixon (ranked 690 p4p, 293 weight class) and Small Richard (ranked 59 p4p, 27 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Willie Dixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Small Richard! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Richard tries to close the distance and clinch but Dixon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Richard scores with a takedown into Dixon's guard. Dixon throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Richard missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Richard avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Richard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dixon swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Richard keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dixon's head. Richard throwing strikes from guard but Dixon blocks nicely. Richard lands a couple of elbows. Dixon can't keep his opponent in guard - Richard advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. We've been hearing good reports from Dixon's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Richard is working for a kimura here but Dixon manages to reverse the position and he's now in Richard's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Richard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dixon tries to free his leg and advance position but Richard is retaining full guard. Richard has his feet on Dixon's thighs here. He's pushed Dixon off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Dixon screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Small Richard! A relieved looking Small Richard thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
