Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gouda Cheese (ranked 817 p4p, 732 weight class) and Mer Lo (ranked 78 p4p, 71 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Mer Lo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lo slips under a jab from Cheese.

It looks like Gouda Cheese has been cut.

Cheese scores with a head kick. Lo tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
We've been told by Cheese's head coaches at The Death Star that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Lo throws a body punch but Cheese moves out of range.
Cheese throws a shot from downtown. Lo moves away and avoids it.
Lo throws a big shot that misses.
Cheese takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Cheese displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lo throws out the jab.

Lo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Cheese throws a hook to the side of Lo's head but Lo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lo scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lo throws a good cross that connects.
Lo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cheese.

and Lo counters with a big uppercut that knocks Cheese off his feet! Lo dives into side control looking to finish!

Cheese is rocked!
Cheese trying to remain calm as Lo controls from the top position.
Oh Cheese is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cheese manages to get back to half guard.
Cheese is looking to improve his position.

Lo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lo lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Cheese quite badly. Cheese pulls Lo in close trying to recover. Lo postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Cheese on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Cheese doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mer Lo!
An out of breath Mer Lo thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
