Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexey Markov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Iranian Hulk!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hulk scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hulk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Markov pinned against the cage. Markov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Markov throwing a counter right hand but Hulk manages to avoid it.
Hulk dives in and grabs Markov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Markov pushes down on Hulk's head and hops out.
Markov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hulk keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hulk fails with the takedown
and Markov counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Iranian Hulk has been cut.
Alexey Markov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iranian Hulk.
Hulk has his takedown stuffed
and Markov counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A jab lands there for Markov.
Hulk changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Markov cracks Hulk with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Markov has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hulk to stand back up!
Hulk is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hulk shoots for a double leg takedown but Markov sprawls well. He's pushed Hulk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hulk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Markov swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hulk shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Markov counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alexey Markov!
After winning the bout, Alexey Markov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
