Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Devon Black (ranked 1017 p4p, 1050 weight class) and Yasol Kim (ranked 105 p4p, 108 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devon Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yasol Kim!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black shoots in for a takedown but Kim shows good takedown defense.
Yasol Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kim misses with a series of wild punches.

Black tries to keep at a distance but Kim has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Black has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
A left hand lands to the body for Kim.

Kim tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Black's elbow.

Kim throws a punch but it's blocked by Black.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Black fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kim manages to avoid it.

Black appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Kim closes the distance and pushes Black back into the cage.
Kim tries to work over Black's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kim pulls Black in to control the position.
Black looking to pass the guard.
Kim bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Black's guard.

Black is looking for a triangle but Kim pushes his legs off easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

and Kim counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Black looks to throw the jab but Kim is out of range.
Black shoots for a takedown but Kim saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kim dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Black misses with a lunging right hand
and Kim counters with an inside leg kick.
Black closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Black steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kim.
Black misses with a hook. Kim ducked under it nicely.
Kim throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Kim is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kim has managed to clinch.
Black is looking to break free of the clinch but Kim has double underhooks.
Black tries to stall but Kim uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Black fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kim misses with some punches.

Kim struggles to land a body shot inside as Black controls his hands.
Black tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kim smiles and moves away.

Kim lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Kim lands with a short shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kim is pressed up against the cage. Black has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kim down to the mat. Kim avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Black shoots in but no luck this time.
Kim throws a leg kick but Black checks it.
Black takes one to the chin there.
Black checks a low kick from Kim.
Black drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kim sprawls and moves away.
Kim misses with a low kick.
Yasol Kim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kim closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Black to the mat! Black manages to get full guard.

Black is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Still in half guard, Black seems content to control.

Black looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Black is stalling here. Kim is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Black seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kim has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kim throws some wild stikes that Black manages to avoid easily.

Black is looking for a sweep. Kim is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Black is looking to control Kim's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Black avoid being mounted?
Black wants to improve his position but Kim is controlling well.
Kim thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Black's head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Black's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kim fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Black on the side of the head.
Kim swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kim thuds a left hand into Black's body.

Kim turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Yasol Kim seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kim stuffs the takedown.
Black misses with a takedown attempt - Kim sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kim is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Black lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Devon Black overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kim is bucking up trying to escape but Black cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Black cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Black is really struggling to control Kim but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Black thowing shots but they're missing.
Black lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Black is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kim sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Black is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kim's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kim's back!

Kim is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Black off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Black has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kim has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You can see the frustration on Kim's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The referee is taking a good look at Kim as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Black!

Kim slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Black paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kim fails in his attempt to clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and Black counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Devon Black.
I think Black has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
