Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devon Merchant (ranked 1440 p4p, 1574 weight class) and Dennis Cunningham (ranked 185 p4p, 198 weight class). Merchant comes into the arena with HonestKey- Pass blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devon Merchant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Dennis Cunningham! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Merchant with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cunningham to score with a decent uppercut. Merchant takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. We've been hearing reports that Merchant has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Cunningham scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Merchant doesn't seem bothered though.
Merchant looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Merchant throws a big right hand that misses.
Cunningham looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Merchant wants to control from the top but Cunningham keeps moving. Merchant throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cunningham works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Merchant content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Cunningham has locked up a guillotine! Cunningham's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Merchant is holding on here and Cunningham must be using up a lot of energy. Merchant has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Cunningham gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
