Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smash Adams (ranked 24550 p4p, 3013 weight class) and Puukko Miekka (ranked 483 p4p, 336 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Puukko Miekka was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Smash Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Puukko Miekka!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miekka lands a nice shot that snaps Adams's head back.
It looks like Smash Adams has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Miekka cracks Adams with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Miekka misses with a body shot.
Adams looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Adams enables Miekka to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Adams manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Miekka wants to control from the top but Adams keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miekka is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Miekka wants to pass the guard but Adams is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adams throws an elbow that misses. Miekka uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Adams's guard. Nice move by Miekka!
Adams controls Miekka momentarily but Miekka frees himself.

Miekka is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Adams is controlling him.

Adams is looking to work some ground and pound but Miekka has wrist control.
Miekka working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Miekka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Adams manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Miekka manages to get himself to full guard.

Adams working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Adams wants to control from the top but Miekka keeps moving.
Miekka lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Adams might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Miekka looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Miekka moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Adams striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
You can see the frustration on Adams's face as Miekka controls the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Miekka takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Miekka scores with a nice head shot.
Miekka gets a takedown into half guard.
Adams manages to get to full guard.
Miekka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Adams swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Miekka slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Miekka postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Adams is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Miekka, into his guard.

Adams wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Miekka's closed guard. He's half up but Miekka has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Miekka pivots and extends the arm, Adams falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Miekka! Well done that man!
