Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Julian Bashir (ranked 230 p4p, 520 weight class) and Flynn Knightley (ranked 18 p4p, 44 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bashir might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Exodus - The Toxic Waltz. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Bashir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flynn Knightley! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knightley tries to clinch letting Bashir counter with a right hand.
It looks like Flynn Knightley has been cut. Good shot there by Knightley. Bashir displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Knightley. Bashir looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Knightley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bashir. Knightley uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bashir. Knightley fails to land the takedown. An attempted straight right counter from Bashir misses the target. Knightley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Nice strikes from Knightley there. Knightley thumps the canvas. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Knightley looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bashir tries to counter with a takedown but Knightley is quick to defend against it. Bashir fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Knightley on the side of the head. Bashir throws a nice looking combination but Knightley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bashir misses with a looping right. Knightley throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Bashir was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bashir loads up on a big right hand but Knightley slips the punch. Knightley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bashir on his heels. He'll look to pass Bashir's guard now, I'm sure. Knightley working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bashir avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Knightley might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bashir haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
