Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Lacasa (ranked 816 p4p, 1340 weight class) and White Goodman (ranked 86 p4p, 129 weight class). Lacasa comes to the cage accompanied by DIEGO LACASA (OFFICIAL THEME). Goodman has chosen Globo Gym America Corp. as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Lacasa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, White Goodman! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lacasa is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Goodman. Goodman throws a series of punches but Lacasa moves out of range. Lacasa displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Goodman throws out the jab. Goodman thows a left - swing and a miss! Lacasa swinging wildly here.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Goodman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Goodman moves out of range of the strikes. Lacasa misses with a looping right. Goodman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Lacasa throws a right hand that Goodman ducks under and follows up with a left that Goodman also avoids with ease. Lacasa lands with a nice body punch. Lacasa moves away from the strike by Goodman. As Goodman looks to move away, Lacasa throws a big counter combo but Goodman just gets out of the way. We've been told by Lacasa's head coaches at Alpha Brasil that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lacasa takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Nice defenses there by Goodman. Goodman changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Goodman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Lacasa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Goodman manages to avoid it. Diego Lacasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lacasa swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Goodman changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goodman tries to move into range but Lacasa moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Goodman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Goodman misses with an uppercut
and Lacasa counters with a stiff right hand. Lacasa looks to score with a jab to the body but Goodman is just out of range. A big left from Lacasa misses. Diego Lacasa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Goodman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lacasa tries to avoid it but Goodman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lacasa to the ground. Lacasa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lacasa scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Goodman doesn't seem bothered though. Goodman on the wrong end of a nice hook. Nice shot lands for Lacasa. A combination from Lacasa does no damage. Lacasa throws out a loose jab but Goodman uses good head movement to avoid it. Lacasa looks to throw the jab but Goodman is out of range. That's three minutes gone in the round. Lacasa avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goodman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Lacasa pulls Goodman in close to his closed guard and prevents Goodman from doing any damage or advancing position. Goodman trying to control but Lacasa is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goodman throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Goodman distracts Lacasa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Goodman sitting in guard here, content to control. Goodman throws a big right hand that misses. Goodman being controlled here momentarily. Goodman trying to control the position from guard on top but Lacasa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Lacasa is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Goodman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lacasa.
Goodman connects with a jab. Lacasa looks to throw the jab but Goodman is out of range. Lacasa slips under a jab. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Lacasa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Goodman moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Goodman with the counter takedown but Lacasa avoids it easily. Goodman misses with a hook. Goodman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lacasa circles away quickly and effectively. Goodman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lacasa defends it nicely. Goodman throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Goodman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lacasa. Lacasa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Goodman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Goodman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lacasa slips under a jab from Goodman. Lacasa fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lacasa drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Goodman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lacasa ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Goodman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lacasa. Goodman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lacasa, pushing him back against the cage. Lacasa gets through Goodman's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Goodman struggles to land a body shot inside as Lacasa controls his hands.
Lacasa misses with a short punch on the inside. A head punch blocked on the inside by Goodman. Goodman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lacasa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Diego Lacasa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of White Goodman. Lacasa working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Goodman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lacasa was well out of range. Poor timing from Goodman. Lacasa appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Lacasa throws a nice looking combination but Goodman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lacasa misses with an uppercut
and Goodman counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lacasa! Lacasa is trying to work for a sweep but Goodman has mounted him! Goodman is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lacasa is surviving well by controlling Goodman's body position as best he can. Goodman controlling from mount. Lacasa wants to control but Goodman is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lacasa taking shots to the head. Goodman misses with a head shot. Goodman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lacasa tries to lock up and control but Goodman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goodman landing punches. Goodman lands a big shot there that rocks Lacasa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Goodman has control of Lacasa's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lacasa regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Goodman throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Lacasa because Goodman loaded up on that one. Goodman with the ground and pound from mount. Lacasa wants to control but Goodman is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lacasa is bucking up trying to escape but Goodman cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Goodman breaks from Lacasa's wrist control and lands an elbow. Goodman thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Lacasa tries to lock up and control but Goodman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Goodman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Goodman is pressing down on Lacasa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lacasa is holding on for now. Lacasa wants to improve his position but Goodman is controlling well.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Goodman lands a nice short elbow. Diego Lacasa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Goodman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Lacasa blocking the ground and pound attempt from Goodman. Lacasa is looking for a sweep. Goodman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Goodman is trying to control. Lacasa wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Goodman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Lacasa trying to control but Goodman postures up.
Goodman lands strikes from half guard. Goodman wants to take a breather but Lacasa is having none of it. White Goodman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Goodman misses with a head shot. Lacasa uses the momentum to regain guard.
And that's the end of the fight! White Goodman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Lacasa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Diego Lacasa seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website. The defeated White Goodman had this to say: 'Nobody makes me bleed my own blood! Nobody! You only won because i did a set of ten thousand squats before the fight.'.
