The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Greer moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like Morgan Leighton has been cut.
Greer clips Leighton with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Leighton a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout. Greer throws a series of punches but Leighton avoids them all with ease. Nigel Greer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Greer cracks Leighton with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Leighton is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Leighton is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Leighton is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A looping hook to the body misses from Leighton. Greer does a little dance to reset his feet. Oh Leighton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Leighton scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Leighton seems to have got his legs back now. Leighton tries to land a front kick but Greer steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Leighton walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Leighton is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Nigel Greer! After the big win, Nigel Greer made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Bloodbath MMA Clothing and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
