Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Manfred (ranked 823 p4p, 1073 weight class) and Lion Tiger (ranked 103 p4p, 140 weight class). Tiger is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Alok - Hear Me Tonight. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Klaus Manfred! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 27 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lion Tiger! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tiger steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Manfred. Manfred fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tiger manages to avoid it. Manfred takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Manfred shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tiger as he avoids it easily. As Manfred backs off Tiger throws a huge counter combo but Manfred manages to avoid it all. Tiger throws a jab but it's blocked by Manfred. A shot to the body from Manfred misses and Tiger counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Klaus Manfred has been cut. Tiger moves out of range as Manfred strikes. Manfred throws a hook but Tiger blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Manfred thuds his right hand into Tiger's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Manfred throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tiger cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Manfred slips under a jab from Tiger. Manfred misses with a hook
and Tiger counters with a crisp right hand that drops Manfred! Tiger lets Manfred back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Manfred is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tiger avoids the body shot from Manfred.
Manfred gets a double leg takedown into Tiger's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Manfred's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Manfred throws a big elbow that misses. Tiger tries to land a sweep but no joy. Manfred trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tiger is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Manfred wants to control from the top but Tiger keeps moving. Manfred is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Tiger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Manfred. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Manfred wants to control from the top but Tiger keeps moving. Manfred missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Manfred stopping the sweep attempt from Tiger. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Manfred works the jab nicely. Tiger slips a jab and a cross from Manfred.

Manfred throws the left hand but Tiger avoids the punch easily. Manfred looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Manfred trying to control but Tiger is working from the bottom. Manfred trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Manfred missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tiger is pulling down on Manfred's head to control his posture. Manfred throws a big elbow that misses. Tiger working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Manfred. Manfred throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Manfred pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tiger is keeping the position for now. Tiger looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tiger avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

and Tiger counters with a stiff right hand. Tiger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Manfred loads up on a big right hand but Tiger slips the punch. Tiger swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Manfred tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tiger was well out of range. Poor timing from Manfred. A countering left hand to the body from Tiger misses. Manfred avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Manfred swings and misses with a shot to the body letting Tiger counter with a right hand. Tiger throws a series of punches but Manfred avoids them all with ease. Manfred misses with an uppercut
and Tiger counters with a nice right hand that sends Manfred toppling to the canvas! Manfred scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Tiger finish him?! Oh Manfred is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Klaus Manfred's cut is getting worse. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Manfred lands a nice shot to the body.
Manfred seems to have got his legs back now. Manfred swings away with a leg kick that misses. A little jabbing left from Tiger on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Manfred throws a body punch but Tiger moves out of range. Tiger has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Lion Tiger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tiger moves away from the strike by Manfred. Manfred is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Tiger's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Manfred digs a good body shot into Tiger's ribs. A cross from Manfred lands. Tiger gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Manfred wants to control from the top but Tiger keeps moving. Manfred throwing strikes but missing. Tiger working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Manfred.

Manfred lands a couple of elbows. Tiger is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Manfred trying to control but Tiger is working from the bottom. Manfred throws a big elbow that misses. That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Manfred distracts Tiger with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Manfred throws a strike but Tiger rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Manfred holds on and takes a little breather. Tiger won't allow Manfred to sweep him here. Manfred trying to control the position.
Tiger is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Tiger passes into half guard. Manfred works his way to full guard. Good work. Manfred working for submissions but it's allowed Tiger to get to half guard.

Lion Tiger dominated that round. The cut man is working on Klaus Manfred's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! A jab from Tiger misses. Tiger misses with a body shot
and Manfred counters with a nice uppercut. Nice uppercut there from Tiger. Manfred thows a left - swing and a miss! Manfred goes for a double leg but Tiger avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tiger continues to drive forward. Tiger swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Tiger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tiger wants to get back to full guard. Manfred lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Manfred is looking to take a break and control but Tiger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Manfred is taking a breather. Tiger says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Tiger is not content to let Manfred control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Manfred looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Manfred takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Manfred is nestled in close to Tiger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Manfred not landing any meaningful shots this time. Tiger pushes Manfred off and gets back to his feet. Manfred bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Manfred working the body and head with strikes. Manfred working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tiger tries to bench press Manfred off him but Manfred keeps the position. Tiger takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Manfred happy to just control the position for now. Manfred tries to score with some ground and pound. Tiger controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Manfred is looking to take a break and control but Tiger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Manfred working the ground and pound. Manfred throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Tiger is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Manfred off and has taken his back!
That's five minutes gone in the round. Tiger keeps control of the position as Manfred tries to break free.
Manfred is working hard here to advance position. Manfred has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Manfred prevents Tiger from getting a body triangle. Tiger is controlling the position but Manfred somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Manfred wants to control but Tiger is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Tiger is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Manfred is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Manfred keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Manfred is looking for a sweep. Tiger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Klaus Manfred overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Manfred is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Tiger has his hands clasped together but Manfred extends and breaks Tiger's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Manfred.
