PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joaquin Chase (ranked 4107 p4p, 5142 weight class) and Jasper Hartman (ranked 448 p4p, 508 weight class). Jasper Hartman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joaquin Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jasper Hartman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chase is looking to clinch but Hartman is avoiding it.
Chase throws a head kick but Hartman moves out of range.
Chase goes for a double leg but Hartman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hartman continues to drive forward.
Chase has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hartman after a bit of a struggle.
Hartman pulls Chase into guard.
Hartman working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Chase has passed into half guard!
Chase thows a huge punch but Hartman dodges it nicely.
Hartman desperately trying to maintain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hartman blocking the ground and pound attempt from Chase.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Chase in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Hartman tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Chase!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joaquin Chase!
