Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Shakes (ranked 714 p4p, 1475 weight class) and Tyres Widforss (ranked 73 p4p, 133 weight class). Shakes comes to the cage accompanied by About the Money- T.I.. Tyres Widforss is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 26 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Shakes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyres Widforss! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shakes connects with a looping right hand.
Widforss misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shakes.
Widforss shoots for a takedown but Shakes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Shakes misses with a looping right. Widforss tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Nice takedown defense from Shakes. No joy for Widforss on that attempt. Shakes throws a jab when Widforss was well out of range. Shakes scores with a jab. Shakes pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Widforss swats away the attempt to clinch by Shakes. Widforss lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Widforss circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Widforss tries to keep at a distance but Shakes has taken the fight into the clinch. Shakes tries to work over Widforss's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Widforss has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shakes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Marcus Shakes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyres Widforss. Shakes lands an elbow inside that Widforss shrugs off. Widforss jumps guard but Shakes turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Shakes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Widforss lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Widforss is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shakes to keep the fight standing. Shakes lands a hook that snaps the head of Widforss backwards. Widforss drags the fight down to the ground.
Widforss is trying to control the position but Shakes postures up. Widforss is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shakes is aware though and is defending well. Widforss has an active guard here but Shakes has managed to pass into half guard.
It looks like Shakes is going to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Widforss is in trouble now - Shakes has advanced to mount! Shakes get's back to his feet. Widforss shoots in looking for a takedown but Shakes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Widforss's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Widforss steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shakes. Widforss throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shakes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Widforss shoots and misses enabling Shakes to counter with a crisp jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Shakes tries to clinch but Widforss is having none of it. Marcus Shakes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shakes misses with a wild body shot. Widforss throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Widforss changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shakes tries to avoid it but Widforss manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shakes to the ground. Shakes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. It looked like Shakes was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Widforss. Widforss shoots in for a takedown but Shakes shows good takedown defense. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shakes scores with an uppercut up the middle. Widforss jumps guard but Shakes stands there with Widforss around his waist. Widforss gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Widforss is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Shakes works on Widforss's body with a couple of short punches. Shakes scores with a knee to the head.
Widforss is trying to pull guard but Shakes has him pressed against the cage. Shakes looking to throw knees to the head but Widforss is blocking nicely.
Shakes lands an elbow inside that Widforss shrugs off. Widforss pulls guard successfully.
Widforss bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shakes's guard.
Widforss postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shakes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Widforss, into his guard.
Shakes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Widforss takes a jab right on the kisser.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Widforss bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shakes's head. Nice takedown defense from Shakes. No joy for Widforss on that attempt. Shakes takes a swing at Widforss's ribcage but misses. And Widforss tries to counter it with a takedown but Shakes pushes his down on his head and steps out. Shakes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Widforss lands a glancing blow to the side of Shakes's head. Widforss circles away from the clinch attempt.
Widforss cracks Shakes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Widforss shoots in for a takedown but Shakes shows good takedown defense. A left lands for Shakes. The fighters circling - Widforss throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Widforss throws the left hand but Shakes avoids the punch easily. Shakes wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Widforss throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shakes was covering up waiting for the punch and Widforss finishes the takedown easily into guard. Widforss trying to control the position from guard on top but Shakes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Shakes dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Shakes moves into the clinch successfully.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shakes creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Widforss tries to throw a body punch but Shakes avoids it by throwing Widforss back against the cage. Shakes softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Widforss tries to pull guard but Shakes won't allow it.
Shakes lands on the inside with an uppercut. Shakes lands with a light punch inside. Shakes lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Widforss's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Widforss has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shakes uses from the top position. Our spies down at at Crapollas Gym inform us that Widforss has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shakes controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Widforss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shakes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shakes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Shakes gets to his feet - Widforss follows without any prompting. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shakes is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Widforss scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shakes doesn't seem bothered though. Shakes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Widforss paws at him with a jab and circles away. Marcus Shakes is winning the standup battle so far. Widforss throws a body punch but Shakes moves out of range. Nice defenses there by Shakes. A little feinted left hand from Shakes on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Shakes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Widforss keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Still in the clinch, Shakes scores with a nice short uppercut. Shakes can't find room to land a body shot as Widforss controls the action.

Widforss jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shakes walks away with a smile on his face. Widforss gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Marcus Shakes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyres Widforss. Widforss lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Shakes is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shakes rushes Widforss and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shakes lands a left hand that snaps the head of Widforss backwards. Widforss drags the fight down to the ground.
Shakes stands and steps away. Widforss gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Shakes gets in close and instigates a clinch. A short left from Shakes. Shakes using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Shakes throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Widforsss head. Shakes gets through Widforss's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Shakes landing knees to the body.
Widforss tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shakes just stands there and leans against the cage. Shakes softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Marcus Shakes has scored more points in the clinch so far. Knees in the clinch landing for Shakes.
Widforss's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Shakes lands with a right to the head. Shakes dips a shoulder and cracks Widforss with a mighty uppercut! Widforss falls back against the cage and Shakes unloads with a barrage of strikes! Widforss is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Shakes screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcus Shakes! In his post fight interview, Marcus Shakes started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
